Fascinating Facts About Horses

by Anna P. October 15th, 2009 | Horses
Throughout time, horses never have ceased to amaze us with their beauty and mystique.  As a member of the equus (equine) family, horses are related to zebras and donkeys. A long time ago, they would run wild and often were hunted for their meat and skin. It wasn’t until after the year 3000 BC, that horses were tamed and soon used as a method of transportation. In modern times, many people take care of horses and often ride them for recreational purposes.  Whether you’re fascinated by horses, or would like to take care of one (ore more), here are some

Cat on Guard

by Jane Wangersky October 12th, 2009 | Cats
When I started taking the cat outside, I worried about conflict with other cats. Being on a leash probably wouldn’t stop him from fighting another cat, I knew, and it would make the fight more dangerous. But the worst that’s happened was that he once ran off in the dark into the neighbors’ yard after their cat, yanking the leash right out of my hand. You’ve probably already thought about what to bring along in case you get hurt out there, but what if your dog gets hurt? After all, he’s the one who’s more likely to get into a fight with a wild animal.

Dogs’ needs in case of injury

Animal Videos

by Ronald A. Rowe October 1st, 2009 | Cats, Dogs
You just can't go wrong with a video featuring animals or kids.  If you can squeeze both into one video, you've got yourself a sure winner.  One of the few programs that our whole family can sit down and enjoy together is America's Funniest Home Videos, mostly for the pet montages.

Youtube has a great variety of animal videos.  Any animal, any scenario -  you can find a video online.  If you're into videos of cats flushing toilets, you can find them by the bucket load (along with a catchy song about... cats flushing toilets).  I was shocked to see just
