Squam Lake

I, being in middle school, recently went on a field trip to Squam Lake.  It is an amazing place! We went inside, and the host brought out three animals.  The first one was a barred owl.  It was gorgeous!  Its face was snowy white, and its body was brownish. The second animal was a mink.  Its coat was glossy and a deep shade of brown.  It was hilarious!  The mink was very riled up.  It kept jumping up and down the sides of the walls.  Back and forth.  Back and forth.  Once it even got on the wire mesh roof!  Everybody...

Best Friends

As I was sitting on the couch and sipping my usual afternoon coffee, I looked down at my dogs sleeping by my feet and came to realize that they are no longer just my dogs, my pets, my “babies”; they are now my best friends and loyal companions. Sea Turtles

For 150 million years our planets ancient mariners have been the sea turtles. Currently there are eight species and each one once abundant are threatened or in some level of endangerment. Indifference of humankind as well has hunting and development have caused this alarm that some of these turtle species may not survive. These eight species are killed for meat and leather, their eggs are taken for food and aphrodisiacs. Their nesting sites are eliminated by development.
