Every morning as the sun is just starting to rise in the New Hampshire sky, we go outside to let the chickens out of the coop. Upon release (and they are waiting by the door for their escape), some walk down the ramp while others try their knack at flying. But they all make a beeline for the water tower. We usually have to fill the water tower and check on the feed bin inside the coop. Part of our morning chores is to make sure the “girls” have everything they need to get through the day.
The life of farmers in miniature is what it is like at our little homestead.
