Many people miss out on the pure joy of owning pets, such as dogs, because they are allergic to them. These people miss out on those relaxing walks, the energetic runs, or the snuggles on the couch with a best friend. They miss out on always having a pal right by their side, and having a bundle of joy running around the house.
However, if you did not know this, just because you are allergic to dogs does not mean that you have to miss out on owning one! Of course, it is not a fool-proof plan, but for most people, hypoallergenic dogs are the perfect solution. This is because these dogs usually have “hair” rather than fur. For most people, it is the dog dander that they are allergic to, so eliminating the fur tends to eliminate any reactions. Also, the dogs with fur shed, so the fur is left all over the house. Not only is this not clean, but it also is very bad for those who are allergic to dogs. Many hypoallergenic dogs do not shed, which is helpful also.
Some of the examples of hypoallergenic dogs are Airedale Terriers, Wheaten Terriers, Bichon Frise, Cairn Terriers, Greyhounds, Poodles, Malteses, Shih Tzus, and Yorkshire Terriers. Some others are Schnauzers, Samoyeds, Portuguese Water Dogs, and more! This is just the begining of a list. There are many more terriers that acccompany this list– terriers seem to be a common hypoallergenic dog.
Do not worry, almost all of these dogs are very soft, and you could not even tell that they have hair rather than fur. Of course, you will be able to tell if you decide to never give him or her a hair cut! Trims are very necessary, as many of these dogs do not shed!
If you aren’t too allergic, I would definitely recommend getting a hypoallergetic dog!
