We have a female Persian cat named Sidney, but we call her “Sweetie” at home. She’s a very sweet kitty. She always wants to be cuddled. Every time we get home, she waits by her bedroom door so that when we open it, she can greet us by rubbing her body on our feet. Although Homer is cuter than she, she is no doubt the sweeter.

There were times that Sidney would just sit on my lap and not get off until I told her to. She loves to groom herself, and she also loves it when I comb her fur – a real “lady” indeed.

Homer (our male Persian cat) and Sidney have lots of differences. If Homer’s favorite pastime at home is playing on the aquarium, Sidney’s would be sitting under my synthetic flower décor. If Homer loves to chase small insects at home, Sidney loves to peek by the window and watch the dogs outside. If Homer loves to sleep under the table or sofa, Sidney loves to sleep on our kitchen counter. If Homer likes to play with our dog named Chester, Sidney would hiss and scratch. When Homer’s in the mood for playing, Sidney would sometimes ignore him.

Despite Sidney’s being a loner sometimes, I still like how she would sit on my lap and be my fluffy companion as long as I want. Sometimes, when I’m working in front of the computer, she would tap my leg with her paw and look up to me as if she’s begging to be picked-up. In fact, she’s on my lap right now while I’m doing this article.

Sidney’s favorite companion at home is my husband. When my husband and I are sitting on the sofa, she would choose to jump on my husband’s lap and not mine. I love how Sidney can sometimes sense how I’m feeling because she would then transfer on my lap after jumping on hubby’s lap.

Now, I can really say that cats can be man’s best friends, too. Do you agree with me?
