Being a lover of cats, I enjoy reading anything and everything I can about them. In fact, my first book as a child focused on a very special cat, Katie. In the book, Katie the Kitten, by Kathryn and Byron Jackson, Katie goes on all sorts of adventures. She snaps at a fly, hops after a frog, fights with her shadow, and sniffs a daisy. In the end, she drinks enough milk to make her tummy full, and she falls asleep in an old hat…purring.

A recent article by Terry O’Neill said that, if people really wanted to reduce carbon emissions, they’d take the idea to its natural conclusion and get rid of their pets. Not that O’Neill endorses this – he’s just read about it in a book that claims:
