Cats – A Woman’s Best Friend?

by Lori S. September 6th, 2011 | Cats
If a dog is man’s best friend, is a cat a woman’s best friend? In my case, I say yes! Cats, with their playful nature, as well as their unpredictable aloofness, exemplify the perfect pet companion. Of course there will be some who disagree with me, yet the following five reasons best describe why cats just may be woman’s best friend.

I know that purring doesn’t always signal pleasure in a cat; it may mean the cat feels threatened just as easily as it means they love your company; however, who can deny that a beloved cat,

by Lori S. May 31st, 2011 | Mammals, Pet Adoption
Lots of creatures inhabit my two-acre yard. Turkeys, deer, woodchucks, squirrels, mice, and much more work and play in the grove of oak trees surrounding my home.

It’s not that I don’t think raccoons are cute. They are adorable. In fact, they are so entertaining

Grooming Your Cat

by Amber Andersen DVM March 17th, 2011 | Ask the Vet
Do I need to brush my cat, or is his self-grooming good enough?

Most of our feline friends enjoy a nice brushing.  This helps remove lose fur and dandruff. You can also check your cat's skin for problems, such as fleas or hair loss.

Plus, it is great bonding time with your cat and makes them feel more comfortable being touched. Dont forget to check their nail length, too!
